Frequently Asked Questions
ATTENDING YOUR FIRST CLASS?
Please consider the following when attending your first class:
BRING A YOGA MAT
If you have one, or we have rental mats available at reception for €2. We also sell a variety of mats, and we would encourage all students to purchase their own for sanitary reasons.
CLOTHING
Wear comfortable clothing that won’t restrict your movement. You will be bending and stretching a lot so loose clothes tends to get in the way! You will not need shoes for your class so please make sure to take them off beforehand. Being barefoot allows more grip on the mat in various poses.
WATER

Drink plenty of water the day of your class and bring a drink of water with you to keep hydrated (there are water stations in both our Ranelagh and Dundrum studios).
EAT

Don't eat too much before you come to class. A piece of fruit or nourishing snack is a good idea about an hour before practice.
ARRIVAL TIME

On your first visit please arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the start time of your class. The receptionist will tell you all you need to know. Late arrivals may not be allowed into class.
DISCONNECT

Please turn off your mobile phones when in the studio. Anything that dings, rings, or buzzes—should be turned off. Be present!
BE PATIENT

Keep an open mind and be patient. Just like anything in life, it takes time to adapt to something new. Take a few classes to see if this is right for you.
HYGIENE

Please respect yourself and your class mates. We are practising together in a closed space, so please be mindful! Mats need a wash regularly too. Please ask us for tips on mat washing or check out this blog post "Clean Living".
RESPECT YOUR LIMITS!

Always listen to your body—don't push yourself beyond what you are capable of just to keep up with the rest of the class. If it gets to be too much, spend time in child's pose until you are ready to jump back in.
WHAT IF I MIGHT BE PREGNANT?
Yoga and Pilates are excellent during pregnancy and for you and baby after the birth. However it is recommended that you do not practice yoga or Pilates in your first trimester. You can return to practice in your second and third trimesters, where yoga and Pilates are both fantastic supports. Find out more about our pre and postnatal classes and treatments.

ENJOY!

Know that after each class you will get stronger both physically and mentally. Enjoy the journey!
