Yintermediate with Grace with Grace T Tempany at Ranelagh Fri, 16 Nov 2018 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
This 2-part Friday night workshop series is designed for yin yoga students and teachers who wish to explore some deeper layers of their yin yoga practice.
While the starting-point for the yin practice must always be the sensations in the physical body, once target areas are covered there are a myriad of options open to us.
In this 2-part series we will look a little closer at the mind and heart, seeking always to know ourselves a bit better in the process, and realising ultimately how yin yoga can play an integral and healing role in that journey.
Have you been practising yin yoga for some time? Do you have some questions you'd like to ask? Do you need some guidance in terms of where to take your yin practice? Are you curious about how a regular yin practice can help you in your life off the yoga mat?
These workshops might be just what your body, heart, and mind are seeking.
You are welcome to sign up for one or both workshops.

Yoga Nidra Workshop – An Exploration of Yogic Sleep with Anna Olsson at Ranelagh Sun, 16 Dec 2018 at 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Yoga Nidra Workshop – An Exploration of Yogic sleep

In this workshop you are invited to discover the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra. Sometimes
described as “dynamic sleep,” the Yoga Nidra practice utilizes “pratyahara” (withdrawal of
the senses) to tap into our subconscious, bringing clarity and insight.
The Yoga Nidra practice will take you through a guided meditation during which the physical
body enters a relaxed sleep state while the mind remains alert and aware. In this altered
state of consciousness, the logical, analytical aspect of the mind is suspended; making
space for the brain to rewire old negative thought patterns and destructive habits, to
reinforce healthy new ones. Yoga Nidra thus provides the perfect opportunity to release
tension, stress and let go of anything that no longer serves us. When practiced regularly,
Yoga Nidra can also help improve sleep patterns and concentration, regulate blood pressure
and digestion, calm the nervous system and connect you to your inner source of healing.
You will have the opportunity to incorporate Sankalpa in the practice; a positive affirmation or
a resolution. This is a powerful technique of turning to the inner self to channel our energy
and release wisdom and strength by clearly defining and focusing on a chosen goal.

 Deep Relaxation
 Stress Release
 Loosen the Hold of Old Patterns
 Clear Out Mental Clutter
 Plant Seeds for New Desires/Growth

Yoga Nidra is the ultimate selfcare practice. It relaxes and nurtures you at every level of
being. All props (bolsters, blankets and eye pillows) are provided but if you have any
favourite snuggly props that you like to use, feel free to bring them. We will enjoy the
nurturing sound of the Tibetan Singing Bowl and pleasantly calming scent of Palo Santo
(South American “sacred wood” used to combat negative energy) to help fully invite the
healing powers of Nidra Shakti!
The workshop will incorporate a gentle guided asana sequence followed by Pranayama, to

prepare body and mind for the Nidra practice
No experience required, open for all.
Bring warm, comfortable clothing.

Christmas Restorative Workshop with Caroline Downey at Dundrum Fri, 28 Dec 2018 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Ease into the New Year with a sense of inner peace & deep rest ...
Find your New Year bliss as we prepare body and mind for a stress-free, mindful and enjoyable New year ahead

Relax and explore with a beautiful practice of deep rest and renewal where we cultivate a sense of gratitude and look forward the year ahead with mindfulness and heartfulness.

Join Caroline, for a mindful experience of deep rest and nourishing movements as we move deeper into a more relaxed body and mind will then follow. We create a sense of unravelling and allow tension to seep away .....
Restorative Yoga provides deep healing for your body and mind. In this workshop, we will prepare the body and mind through some gentle restorative movements to gently release inner tension as we connect with ourselves to listen how we can replenish ourselves through a gentle nurturing practice. As we become quieter, we learn to really listen to our body and what it needs to stay balanced and well.
Through this class, your body and mind will be rejuvenated with a series of restorative movements that will gently open and bring balance to the body and mind replenishing your energy.
Restorative yoga uses props such as blankets & cushions to fully support and relax your body in a passive way while calming the nervous system to achieve balance.

Spending time in these movements, your nervous system relaxes and slows the heart rate and deeply relaxes the muscles and joints. This helps to increase the flow of fresh oxygenated blood and relaxes and quietens the overall nervous system.
These gentle postures aid the body to heal using no muscular effort. Restorative Yoga may help to reduce stress and may be very helpful for those facing challenges such as anxiety, depression or any other health issues. It may also be very beneficial for those with problems sleeping.
A regular Restorative Yoga practice also compliments an active yoga practice or those engaging with sporting activities. Anyone can practice Restorative Yoga, regardless of age, shape or physical condition, even those who are completely new to yoga.

The workshop will include gentle breathing practice and meditation and will end with a guided Relaxation (Yoga Nidra) to send you floating home.
You will leave feeling restored, energised and relaxed ready to embrace the year ahead.
Everybody is welcome to this workshop, with or without prior experience of yoga and meditation. Also suitable during pregnancy from 15 weeks.

Happy Hips with Samantha Lee Doyle at Hot Yoga Rathmines Sat, 19 Jan 2019 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The winter months are a perfect time to slow things down – in this workshop, we will
be slowing down and moving through some deep hip openers to not only deepen our
splits but to create space.
Most of the time in yoga it’s not necessarily how strong or flexible you are, it’s about
how you approach pose, it’s about getting to know your body, tuning in and coming
back to yourself.
Together we will work with the breath and the body to create a flow that will open the
hips and deepen your splits. These flows will challenge you to find comfort in the
uncomfortable and calm your mind when it starts to wander. My favourite part of my
own practice is finding new and fun ways to transition into poses and I can’t wait to
share my favourite creative flows with you!
You will leave feeling inspired, refreshed and empowered!
€30 each or €100 for all four workshops with Sam.

Embodied Yoga as Fascial Fitness with Lizzie Reumont at Dundrum Sat, 2 Feb 2019 at 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Ever wonder what gives your body its shape? Fascia, the connective tissue that webs itself in and around the body, plays a major role. We can feel elastic and soft, or solid and glue-like, depending on our life’s experiences and how we manage our self in gravity over time. Fascia is what enables us to feel a connection from head to toe through our movement patterns, or to experience pulls of asymmetry. There is increasing evidence to suggest that ‘exercising’ the fascial web throughout the body is as important as cardio and muscular fitness. But what is fascial fitness? In this workshop we will explore the ‘how’ of movement patterns. Using yoga asana as a common language, We will amplify our awareness of the unique patterns that are held in our body that may contribute to a physical limitation, injury or even chronic pain. We will begin to explore fascial connections throughout the body and look at patterns of flexion and extension that open the fascial layers. Lastly, we will explore a new way of moving that will positively affect the fabric of the fascial system, increase overall health, strength and flexibility. This practice is intended for yoga practitioners with a curious mind. It is open to those with limitations, chronic pain and a desire to add depth and dimensionality to an embodied movement practice.
€35 (whole weekend - 4 workshops €150)
