Two 90min masterclasses, designed for teachers, to nuance your hands-on assist work.
There is incredible potency when teachers know how to use their own physicality to communicate

years of tension, tightness and entanglement within just one contact.
We’ll explore from the subtle to the most expressed variations so that you can grow your own
confidence as well as nuance your craft. These hands-on-assists are directly informed by my
Katonah Yoga studies and training with Abbie Galvin over the past two years.
The environment is super supportive, hands-on and down-to-earth.

Yoga Nidra Workshop – An Exploration of Yogic Sleep with Anna Olsson at Ranelagh Sun, 21 Oct 2018 at 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Yoga Nidra Workshop – An Exploration of Yogic sleep

In this workshop you are invited to discover the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra. Sometimes
described as “dynamic sleep,” the Yoga Nidra practice utilizes “pratyahara” (withdrawal of
the senses) to tap into our subconscious, bringing clarity and insight.
The Yoga Nidra practice will take you through a guided meditation during which the physical
body enters a relaxed sleep state while the mind remains alert and aware. In this altered
state of consciousness, the logical, analytical aspect of the mind is suspended; making
space for the brain to rewire old negative thought patterns and destructive habits, to
reinforce healthy new ones. Yoga Nidra thus provides the perfect opportunity to release
tension, stress and let go of anything that no longer serves us. When practiced regularly,
Yoga Nidra can also help improve sleep patterns and concentration, regulate blood pressure
and digestion, calm the nervous system and connect you to your inner source of healing.
You will have the opportunity to incorporate Sankalpa in the practice; a positive affirmation or
a resolution. This is a powerful technique of turning to the inner self to channel our energy
and release wisdom and strength by clearly defining and focusing on a chosen goal.

Intention
 Deep Relaxation
 Stress Release
 Loosen the Hold of Old Patterns
 Clear Out Mental Clutter
 Plant Seeds for New Desires/Growth

Yoga Nidra is the ultimate selfcare practice. It relaxes and nurtures you at every level of
being. All props (bolsters, blankets and eye pillows) are provided but if you have any
favourite snuggly props that you like to use, feel free to bring them. We will enjoy the
nurturing sound of the Tibetan Singing Bowl and pleasantly calming scent of Palo Santo
(South American “sacred wood” used to combat negative energy) to help fully invite the
healing powers of Nidra Shakti!
The workshop will incorporate a gentle guided asana sequence followed by Pranayama, to

prepare body and mind for the Nidra practice
No experience required, open for all.
Bring warm, comfortable clothing.

Always taught with care and some sound advice on injury prevention and recovery this 2 hour workshop will leave you with the tools you require to either adapt your current yoga practice or begin a new one suited to your running needs.

Empowerment - Strength - Nourishment

November 4th 2-6pm

€40

An evening to reignite your inner goddess, shakti. Release your wild woman from your source. Embrace and bask in her wisdom. Allowing her to receive and feel completely nourished and supported.

It is time to claim or reclaim your power. Step into your true essence and shake off what no longer serves you.
We will confront shame and doubt and disempower limiting beliefs throughout this evening of women.

For centuries women have gathered together in their communities to nourish and support each other. Be it with dancing, drumming, singing, creating or a Red tent rituals. Women nurtured, moved, laughed, cried and healed together.

The night will consist of conversation, laughter, womb yoga, dance and yin yoga. Each practise will honour each of the women inside us.

All welcome who identify as a women to celebrate our divine feminine energy and allow our bodies to flourish.
No yoga or dance experience needed.

Yoni- Sacred space : yoni; Sanskrit: "womb", "uterus", "vagina", "vulva", "abode", or "source") is a stylised representation of female genitalia representing the goddess Shakti in Hinduism.

The Mother practise - a slow flowing juicy womb yoga practice. Undulating and floating through stillness to delicious movement to root down and soothe the body. Finding pleasure in our practise and moving with joy and dropping unrealistic expectation and really allowing bliss through the body.

The Wild women - She finds pleasure in all she does and is fearless in her footsteps.
The Maiden practise - we will awaken the wild inside with free movement and dance to allow the full expression of your fire, creativity and sensuality to fly freely.

The Crone practise - Sitting in the belly of our wisdom through stillness with a beautiful nourishing yin yoga practise. Stories, singing and silence will allow this sublime practise to run through your body like water and free up stagnet energy and thought patterns.

The meditation - A clearing of clutter held in the body. Connecting with your inner healer to bring greater pleasure and joy to our bodies.

This night is all about celebrating being a women. Stepping into your power, learning new approaches to moving with our feminine cycle and connecting deeply to our divine feminine energy.

I hope you can join me for this unique evening of love and laughter, kindness and respect for ourself and others at this truly special sacred space

x Kitty

Function vs Aesthetics: Skeletal Variation and the 'Skeleton in the Closet' with Grace T Tempany at Dundrum Sat, 17 Nov 2018 at 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Tension and Compression and what all yoga teachers can learn from the yin approach.
Hip Focus

Investment: €50

“In a functional approach to yoga there is no perfect pose. Each hand and foot position helps or inhibits our ability to stress the target areas. The most effective way to do this varies from person to person.” (Paul Grilley)

If you have ever found yourself wondering just why that particular yoga student who has been practising for years has stopped making visible signs of progress? Or is there a pose you have been struggling with for years that you simply can't 'execute'?
There's a very good chance that it's individual bone structure that is stopping both you and your student, and considering how this impacts on our 'shape' in the pose is now an essential part of yoga teacher training and CPD.
This morning we will focus on some common poses for the hip area where we can explore tension and compression to better understand the function of each pose rather than its idea aesthetic. We will also explore how we might cue differently in our teaching in order to include everybody - and every body - in our classes.

This workshop is open to teachers and experienced yoga students.
If you have any questions at all please email me at gracetempany@gmail.com

This workshop is valid for 3 CPD units with Yoga Alliance if you are registered with them as an RYT.
