Oooh, Christmas is in the (strangely mild) air.
I hope all your preparation is going according to plan and there isn’t too much last minute running around on the cards this weekend… yoga breathing while waiting in line really does keep the “get out of my way now” inside your head (hee hee)!
There’s lots of fun to be had over the next couple of weeks and some very welcome holiday time for many of us, but things can get hectic and nerves a little frayed too. Remember to take some time for yourself… get some fresh air and sunshine, turn up the music while prepping all those sprouts (and sing at the top of your voice) or grab a few friends or some family and cosy up in front of a silly movie!
A couple of sun salutations make for the perfect start to the day. Just as we do in class, remember to set your intention for the day, even before getting out of bed. It will help focus all those positive thoughts and remind yourself how you’d like your day to go. It’s amazing how well this works to help us keep things on track during the day… ooops, this isn’t the plan, make a slight adjustment! It’s all about awareness.
It’s the same at the end of the day as at the end of our yoga class. Take a few moments to overlook any disasters or tantrums and remember what you loved about the day and what you’re grateful for. Those few minutes will help calm the mind and set you up for a deep happy sleep!
As for food and festive fun, below are some things I’m going to be trying out this year:
These Melting Snowmen are great fun to make… you could even cheat and buy the biscuits and just enjoy decorating them!
Strawberry Santas couldn’t be easier… strawberries and cream with a Christmas twist and a great way to sneak in some fruit! You could be ultra healthy and use Greek yogurt instead of cream!
If you’re like me and need step by step instructions for anything creative, check out this link for Christmas Tree Napkins. Great for Christmas buffets or table settings on the big day!
Don’t you love this! You could make your own Rudolph accessories (pipecleaners at the ready) or buy a little pack… Penney’s are doing them this year. Guranteed to get a giggle!
Whatever fun and mischief you get up to, I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and look forward to bringing you more happy blogging in 2016.
