Mari Kennedy
Teacher, inquirer,wisdom-seeker, change-maker Mari Kennedy has been exploring and experimenting with what it means to live fully alive and authentically for the over 10 years.
 
A Yoga and mindfulness teacher, coach, facilitator and retreat leader she continues to be a student of many wisdom traditions and methodologies including Hatha, Anusara and Scaravelli yoga, mindfulness, celtic wisdom and the expressive arts of Authentic Movement, Journey Dance and Naked Voice.
 
Mindfulness, heartfulness and playfulness are at the core of her teachings and practice. She create alchemical spaces guiding people back to the wisdom of their hearts and the truth of who they are by transforming all that “appears” to be in the way of living life to its full and highest potential. She weaves various practices through her work including self inquiry, meditation, sound, yoga, movement, bodymind centering, Celtic wisdom, transformational coaching, shadow work and play.
 
She is a faculty member of the Yoga Room Yoga Teacher training (Dublin) developed and lead mindfulness programmes for The Well at Liss Ard (Cork), has taught on the Oscailt Mindfulness courses and co-founder of Mindfulness Hedge School
Maggie Dunne
At this moment ...

I am a teacher of hatha flow yoga and Kundalini yoga in Dublin .

I did alot of my studying in Sydney Australia, where I spent 8 years living on and off.

I Began... studying an "advanced diploma of intregrated body therapies" full time and loved every minute as I have a big interest in the body, how it works and how to maintain it.

After I finished I worked full time as a remedial massage therapist, but not for long as my interest in yoga grew stronger I decided to complete a "diploma of yoga teacher training" at Nature Care College Sydney. It was a challenging and amazing year, life changing. It was full time for a year, Since then yoga has become not only my hobby but a way of living that makes me feel great, keeps my body working properly and most of all keeps my mind peaceful and relaxed.

The philosophy of Yoga, and its texts are amazing little treasures of knowledge that make so much sence to me, constantly putting life into perspective. I Feel that I have only touched on all that there is to learn in yoga, and hope I can keep learning and pass on my knowledge to others!

I completed a diploma of kundalini YogaTeacher Training in Limerick in 2010. I teach kundalini workshops on weekends.

I have continued studying with teachers such as Shiva Rea, Donna Farhi, John frend, Mia Finnes, Gurmuck and many others.I have a strong interest in meditation and practice vipassana buddhist meditation.

Lisa-Marie E'Ishan Nilsson
Lisa is a passionate, barefoot-running, fun-loving and travelling certified AcroYoga, Vinyasa, Hot and Hatha yoga-teacher and she has taught in many countries around the world. She is also trained in Dutch Partner Acrobatics and Flying Therapetics, which is the softer and more compassionate side of the AcroYoga practice and her favourite part! Lisa loves eating vegan food, getting up at 5am for morning-practice and rainy days.
Dorcas Barry
 
Following on from a career working as a nutritional consultant and healthy cookery teacher, Dorcas Barry became fascinated by the significant role that patterns of thinking and emotional health can play alongside food and diet in health and happiness.

She duly added training as a Meditation Coach to her qualifications in food and nutrition, and now carries out corporate workshops on meditation, relaxation, and positive mental health habits, alongside alongside healthy eating events.

Dorcas believes that developing healthy habits for the mind as well as the body is the key to creating truly sustainable health along with a happier and more fulfilling experience in day to day work and play.
Aoife Kane

Aoife believes yoga is a transformational practice that encourages the union of our mind, our bodies and our spirit. It gifts us the ability to question, discover and create in all aspect of our lives as we become more open to what wonders the universe holds.

She has been practicing different styles of yoga for over 15 years having come to yoga to help alleviate an illness. Teaching and sharing her love of the practice since 2009 she is a Certified Forrest Yoga Instructor and has the privilege of being in continuous training & development with her teacher Ana Forrest. Aoife has also completed trainings and workshops with Baron Baptiste, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Tiffany Cruikshank, Annie Carpenter and is certified with Yogacampus UK. She teaches Forrest Yoga, Forrest Inspired Yoga, Power Yoga, Yin Yoga, Power Vinyasa Yoga & Flow Yoga classes, workshops & retreats here in Ireland and internationally.

Her greatest intention is connecting to her spirit and shining light into the world hereby enabling others to do the same.

Orla Cronin

 

Orla has been practicing yoga for the past five years. Formerly an international runner, Orla was advised by a physical therapist to try yoga in order to alleviate tightness in the body. She was pleasantly surprised with the many benefits that a regular yoga practice has brought to her life.

 

Orla trained at The Yoga Room in 2013 and also completed a Kids Yoga Course in May of 2014.

 

Orla's classes are friendly and relaxed. She sets out enjoyable and beneficial sequences, seeking to marry careful alignment with a themed, flowing series. She likes her classes to be playful, all the while following a linear flow with the early poses preceding the more challenging peak poses.

 

Orla is a former English teacher and loves to bring little verses or quotations into the yoga space. She likes to teach to a backdrop of meditative music and enjoys the relaxation that both can bring.

Angie Kinsella

Angie considers yoga as a way of life, nurturing and balancing for the mind, body and spirit. Having practised yoga daily for the past 15 years, Angie continues to embrace the many new experiences each day through this way of living.

Angie is also a practising Holistic Therapist and dedicated meditation teacher, She teaches in a gentle manner which encourages body awareness, integrity, developing acceptance, love for oneself,welcoming stillness within movement, and bringing us home to our connection to our true nature'

Laura Sarah Dowdall
 
As an internationally experienced Yoga teacher, Life Coach, Reiki Master and Professional Dancer- Laura offers an integrated approach to wellbeing through her expertise in Yoga, Somatic Movement, Healing and Transformational Change processes.
 
Her classes offer enhanced self-awareness, creativity and rejuvenation with dynamic sequencing, somatic movement and deep healing practices to refresh every body, mind and spirit.
 
Laura is a guest speaker and facilitator of practical wellness, stress management, creative expression, team-building and personal empowerment programmes.
 
Laura’s passion is to assist people in realising their fullest potential through positive life changes that enhance personal satisfaction, health and happiness. She empowers people with practical skills to enable the release of tension, trauma, stress and anxiety.
 
Laura’s previous career in marketing, event management and business development in Ireland, the USA and Germany provide her with commercial perspective and real-life understanding of the challenge to attain work-life balance, manage stress and achieve career satisfaction.
 
Laura studied International Commerce and Italian in UCD and International Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Cross Cultural Change at Harvard University. She achieved a Higher Diploma with Yoga Therapy Ireland, an Accredited Diploma in Executive and Life Coaching.
 
She has completed professional training in Contemporary Dance and Somatic Movement practices.

Lisa Corrigan O'Byrne
 
Lisa began practising yoga 15 years ago and has been working with children and families for 20 years. She is a qualified trust in birth pre and post natal yoga teacher through the Elbow Room, Dublin (Yoga Alliance Registered), a 200hr RYT and a kids yoga teacher trained by Rainbowkids Yoga. She is also a certified infant massage instructor (CIMI) with the International Association of Infant Massage and holds an MSc. in Child Health, a BSc. in Occupational Therapy and a Diploma in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.
 
Only in her own pregnancy did Lisa truly appreciate the value of her yoga practice. She can hand on heart put her healthy pregnancy and natural births down to the wonderful gift of yoga. She would love the opportunity to share this with you during this special time.
 
Lisa teaches pregnancy yoga, mum and baby yoga, postnatal yoga, baby massage, kids yoga and empowering birth. Her prenatal yoga classes are loaded with tips to support you to plan and own your birth experience as well as aid postnatal recovery.
 
Her mum and baby classes aim to encourage mums to create a community of support for one another during this wonderful but also challenging time. Baby massage courses focus on nurturing touch and frequently include dads to support the bonding process for both parents. Lisa also has specialist knowledge of working with premature babies and babies with additional needs. She is currently pursuing a PhD in the area of childbirth, maternity care and premature babies.
 
 
Aisling M Milne
 
Aisling Milne has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. In 2010, she began her studies to become a yoga teacher with a 200hr programme in The Yoga Room, she is now a 500hr trained yoga teacher. Through her 200hr teacher training she met a teacher named Jodie Rufty, from Yoga Works who she was deeply inspired by.
 
After some research in to YogaWorks she applied to take their 300hr teacher training programme. She left her full time job as an anaesthetic nurse in Dublin and moved to New York. She studied there for two and a half years with some amazing teachers and completed the 300-hour teacher training in Yoga Works in 2012. The mentorship program allowed her to follow the lives of other yoga teachers and experience various teaching styles. While in New York she broadened her studies to encompass kids yoga, prenatal yoga, yoga for those with eating disorders and yoga for older adults. Her time in New York was a period of intense education, enthralling practice and utter exhilaration.
 
She returned home to Dublin in late 2013, went back to nursing and taught yoga on the side. In August 2016, she decided to teach yoga full time. Although she left her nursing job behind, she took so much experience with her. Thanks to her training as a nurse, she can bring an extra dimension to her yoga classes. She has an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and pays particular attention to alignment and protection from injury. For this reason, she believes yoga can be suitable for everyone.

 

Alba Lorca

Alba has been teaching the Pilates method for the last 8 years.

Pilates was originally developed as a somatic form (proprioceptive awareness) of physical fitness conditioning in the early 1920s. Joseph Pilates emphasized the somatic principles of mind-body connection, tracking of proprioceptive observations, and attention to breathe. He believed that mental and physical health were essential to one another. Pilates uses correct alignment, centering, concentration, control, precision, breathing and flowing movement to establish a perfect working body from the inside out.

Pilates classes are designed to build a balanced body by accentuating on lengthening and aligning your body, rather than on bulking and shortening the muscles. The root of this practice is base on the core or ‘powerhouse’ of your body. The essential intrinsic core muscles are your Transverse Abdominus, Pelvic Floor and Multifidus muscles which we learn to train as part of the Pilates method and from where the inside out approach rise.

After her practice in Asthanga vingasa Yoga for several years, Alba heard about Pilates from a physiotherapist friend. She got hooked immediately by the Pilates principles. Like yoga, Pilates focuses on breath and movement, but emphasizes concentration rather than meditation. J. Pilates combined elements of yoga with athletic conditioning to create the exercise method that bears his name.

Alba is a qualified Pilates teacher in matwork and machine techniques from FitPilates, Madrid, Spain. She also belongs to the performing arts field. As an active artist she combines this activity with her teaching work. She graduated in Dramatic Art as well as Contemporary Dance. 


Alba complemented her professional training in the field of the psychology, studying Gestalt therapy. She believes that she is part of a unified whole so all these disciplines embody who she is as a person so as a teacher.


Her Pilates mat classes are designed to promote dynamic movement in the body utilizing breath, core strength, release unnecessary tension, alignment and develop inner awareness. And also, make students aware of their patterns of movement so that they can all identify them and develop their intelligence of the now. The classes are designed for participants that are injury free. If you have any concerns a private session is highly recommended to assess the issue and make you able to join the class securely.

Dagmara Jerzak
Dagmara is a certified Hatha Yoga & Pilates teacher and a contemporary dance artist. After receiving a BA (hons) degree in contemporary dance in 2012 she moved to Dublin, where she’s been working as a performer, choreographer, and dance teacher.

While working in the creative industry which can be very demanding and requires a lot of energy and effort, Dagmara discovered Yoga and meditation which allowed her to find more work-life balance. At first it allowed her to find some quiet space within the mind and gradually she discovered that daily yoga and meditation practice helped with overcoming daily stress. It also allowed for coming back to the present moment and it brought more joy to everyday life.

Dagmara teaches variety of movement based classes and workshops in contemporary dance, Hatha Yoga, Pilates and mindful movement. Dagmara draws from her vast experience to create unique classes that blend movement, breath and body-mind connection. Her focus is on alignment that supports healthy body, working within the limitations of our bodies and encouraging opening up of restricted spaces within the body in a kind and supportive environment. Dagmara's classes are creative, challenging and fun, sprinkled with flowing breath and sense of freedom within the mind and body.

In our culture periods of stillness, silence, reflection and aloneness have been eliminated and because of that the stress level that everyone experiences is many, many times higher than that which has been habitual throughout human history.

About Kathryn: I am a qualified nurse with over 20 years’ experience, both at home and abroad and have been practising yoga and meditation for over ten years. I have undergone formal training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Bangor University, Wales and have also completed Phase 4, the Teacher Development Intensive (TDI), in the training pathway to certification in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction with the Centre for Mindfulness (CFM), University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, Massachusetts.
 
Teaching mindfulness is something I feel very passionate about as I have experienced so many personal benefits from practising this way of living and I feel privileged to have witnessed many others as they realise they can live with more peace and happiness amidst the uncertain nurture of life.

Karen D Davies
Karen got her first taste of yoga as a child, practicing at home with her Mum and the cat! Though it wasn't until 2011 that she started taking classes regularly, and finally got hooked. She has been practicing at Yoga Dublin Studios since then under the guidance of Dave Curtis, Caroline Downey and Sibylle Dallmann. She recently took the leap to leave her software development career of 15 years, to dedicate herself to teaching yoga full-time.
She completed her 200 hour training between September 2014 and April 2015 with Ciara Cronin and Eithne Kennedy at The Yoga Room. She teaches a flowing vinyasa style, connecting breath to movement, and with an emphasis on alignment. She also incorporates meditation, yin and restorative yoga.
She believes that yoga is for everyone, no matter what age or fitness, and encourages acceptance of where you are rather than focusing on goals. Her classes are strong and challenging, but with an element of light-heartedness and fun, helping students to increase their confidence, discover their potential and most importantly to be happy and healthy.
