Cara has been practising yoga for 9 years. She began her journey into yoga when she realised that working in the Corporate World was simply not for her and she wanted more out of life. Her love of exercise which saw her with many injuries over the years, led her onto a different path. She says she was the most inflexible girl in the class but dedicated practice and patience has heightened her awareness of postures and the breath.
Her interest in yoga has developed over the last few years as her pace of life began to slow down and becoming a Mum to a beautiful little baby girl, Darcy, has meant that her practice and teaching has changed.
She completed her Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Certificate with the YTTC in December 2009 and is currently studying the prenatal teacher training course with The Elbow Room. She is also studying Yin Teacher Training with Josh Summers and will have completed the course in June 2017. She completed her diploma in Eating Distress Practitioner Skills with the Marino Therapy Centre in June 2015.
She has been teaching yoga for seven years and is especially interested in "breath-synchronized movement," and the yoga she teaches offers sequences of poses that will move students through the power of inhaling and exhaling. Cara teaches a dynamic flowing style of yoga class but comes back to deep restoratives and yin monthly through each term cycle. Her classes are a balance of both physical and restorative but more importantly of fun!
She has studied with many inspiring teachers including Lois Nesbitt, Mark Holzman, Deb Neubauer, Sianna Sherman, Ross Rayburn, Bridget Woods Kramer, Deseriee Rumbagh, Betsey Downing, Melissa Curtis, Josh Summers and John Friend. She plans to attend more classes and workshops now that she is back teaching more one-to-ones, retreats, workshops and small classes in her Seomra in Bray.
Cara is also a secondary school teacher and works as a careworker with girls with eating distress. She loves to spend time outdoors in nature, in particular hiking with her husband and little toddler. Nowadays, she loves to get out walking by the sea, hanging out in the amazing cafes or attending many of the mum and baby groups that the area has to offer. She loves to cook and bake nutritious wholesome food and of course spend time with friends and family.
Cara is currently teaching small candlight classes from her Seomra in Bray, runs monthly yoga and hiking workshops, retreats and one-one private/tailored sessions.
Cara is currently not instructing any classes.
