Michelle was introduced to yoga while on a tennis scholarship in America in the mid 90’s. At the time yoga was largely unheard of in Ireland but she recognised its benefits to athletes in prevention of injury and also building up strength and confidence within. It was several years later while working in media in London that Michelle was reintroduced to yoga. She made the decision to train as a yoga instructor and completed her training in Hatha yoga in 2006.
Michelle’s teaching places emphases on a deep connection with the breath, stillness and clarity of the mind, strength, balance and a mindful flow of movement. She teaches dynamic and gentle classes depending on the needs of her classes Michelle is also a qualified prenatal, mum and baby yoga and kids yoga teacher. Her mum and
baby classes in Ranelagh are divided between mum and baby. For the mums we focus on rebuilding core strength, toning pelvic floor muscles and strengthening up the lower back and shoulders. We work with the breath and, when allowed!, even enjoy some quiet relaxation. The babies then enjoy some wonderful hip openers and stretching followed by songs and lots of fun.
This class is a great opportunity to meet other mums and babies and you and your baby will both benefit from this class. Suitable from 4 weeks on… All levels welcome. This is a drop in class. No booking necessary but limited numbers do apply
Michelle is a certified baby massage instructor and has massaged over 300 babies in the last 6 years in Dublin. Her 4 week course runs regularly in Yoga Dublin, Dundrum.
Massage soothes your baby and is pleasurable for you both. Research has shown the respiratory, muscular, circulatory and immune systems all benefit from the positive effects of massage. Dynamic Yoga Flow
Expect a balance between physical postures, dynamic movements, breathing exercises and elements of relaxation to leave you feeling refreshed and invigorated. Our classes are fun and challenging. Each class is individually sequenced by the teacher, adapting to the needs of the class. They will contain varying sequences and poses to keep the body challenged, yet will have enough familiarity to aid progression. Leave our classes lighter, energised, refocused and ready for the rest of your day.
Mum & Baby Yoga
Mum and baby yoga is a great way to bond with your baby while getting back in shape. A typical mother and baby yoga class focuses on re-building core strength. Many of the yoga poses involve the core area which helps to tone these muscles and restore strength after pregnancy. We also focus a lot on relieving tension in areas such as the neck, shoulders and back as many new moms find feeding and lifting baby can lead to tiredness in these areas.
In the class we also practice breathing exercises and relaxation techniques. This helps to replenish lost energy.
It is suitable to start Mum and baby yoga after your postpartum check-up until your baby is actively crawling. Bring a toy and a blanket for baby.
Babies are involved in some of the yoga postures and beside mom on a blanket for others. They usually respond very well to the simple baby moves.
It’s a relaxed environment and all babies are welcome just as they are. It’s also a great way to meet other new moms in a sociable environment. It also fine if baby wants to sleep through the entire class. Feeding and changing during the class is common as is crying! However many babies pick up on the relaxed energy in the class and become quite calm.
Mum and Baby yoga is suitable from 6 weeks post partum (once mums has been cleared by doctor to exercise) and from 12 weeks if you had a caesarean section.
Your insurance provider may contribute towards your pre/ postnatal yoga expenses. Check your policy for more details. Receipts can be issued for classes.

WHAT IS BABY MASSAGE?
Baby Massage is a carefully balanced combination of Indian and Swedish Massage Strokes combined with Baby Yoga and Reflexology.

Yoga for Everyone
Yoga for Everyone is a community priced class, discounted from our regular price of €16 to €12.
It is a mixed level class open to all levels. The teacher will give appropriate options and modifications depending on the level.
Level 2 classes are designed to take you deeper into your practice by introducing asanas which will challenge you equally on strength & flexibility, so you can discover true harmony in body & mind.
Each class combines a dynamic asana practice with meditation, hands-on alignment, basic yoga philosophy, deep relaxation…and some good sounds!
As we suggest more challenging variations as your practice develops, this is a great place for you to laugh, play and grow in your own time.
Not suitable for beginners.
